Digital vs Electronic Signature

Very new to this. One of our clients requires 'digital' vs 'electronic' signature - that is, the signer must have a PKI certificate and the private key of the user's certificate is used to create the signature. Does the OneSpan API allow for digital signature in the strict definition of the term?
