Restrict multiple uploads from attachment

1 votes

OneSpan recently implemented "Signers can now: (1) upload one or more supporting documents to a transaction before the transaction is completed; (2) upload multiple documents in a single attachment.".

How do I turn this feature off? Our relationship was 1 to 1 with attachments and receiving zip files instead of photos is a breaking change to our current implementation.

Hi JSAVI,

Supposing you are using old signing experience (versus the new signer experience), please be noticed that the behavior is not changed:

4-14-1

When hit the "Upload" button, it only allows the signer to select one file. This new enhancement is more for the new signer experience, where you can select / drag and drop multiple documents.

You can provide detailed instructions to your end user in the attachment description that only upload one file per attachment.

Right but you can continue to upload documents after you upload a single attachment, then OneSpan is zipping the file and sending that on download. This has not happened over the past 2 years.

There is no indication to the user that previous files have been uploaded. Telling a end user to not do something, does not mean they will not do it. Especially when there is no indication this is happening.

Is there no way to prevent this new feature from changing our current workflow?

Hi JSAVI,

If the end user has uploaded a file, the icon will turn to a check mark instead of the question mark.

Also, if we are talking about the production environment, this new implementation hasn't been deployed (this comes with 11.33 version, while the production environment is still at 11.32.2) Even BEFORE the new implementation, end user can continue to upload files and make the attachment a zipped file, so essentially this won't cause product change for the classic signer experience. If your end users didn't make this mistake in the past 2 years, the chances should be low that they made this mistake now.

But of course, we can fill in an Enhancement Request asking to limit the upload number for each attachment.

Hi there,

I have some updates for this post. As of 11.35, senders will have the option to limit the upload file number in New Signer Experience. (check our Release Note)

This will be an account level setting that applied to all packages, all attachments. And needs to be turned on by contacting our support team.

Supposing you've set the limit as 1, any subsequent upload for the same attachment will hit below error message:

6-23-1
