Signing with smart card

Hi, when a smart card is used is the document also signed by a server certificate or something after all signers have signed? Also, how is non-repudiation retained when not using smart cards? Thanks, Jimmy

Hi Jimmy, The certificate on the smart card when going that route. If you're not using smart cards, then you are signing using esignlive certificates.

So, is there anything that would prevent the user from creating and signing a similar document from stating that it was the actual document that they signed.

Every signed document is encrypted and has an extensive audit trail embedded within the signed documents, which proves the validity of the signatures. If there is any tampering with the signed documents, the signatures are automatically invalidated. Have a go at it yourself :)
