forgot password email

Hi, I am the sender, and i want to receive the email when I click ‘forgot your password’ link in the login page. does it mean in my sender account, my 'email.forgot.password' template should be enabled? It seems my owner account has it enabled, I still don't get the email, what i guess is must be enabled in my own sender account, is it true? thanks, cindy

Hi Cindy, First to confirm with you: (1)in order to receive reset pwd email, you need to enable "email.forgot.password": true in "email.templates" resources (2)all members under one account share the same email template settings, so if your senders should have it enabled already. If you want to troubleshoot the reason why you didn't received the email, you can send another two reset pwd emails to your account owner, and to another sender with same email domain (gamil/hotmail,etc) If you literally forgot your password, you can directly reset the password at backoffice: in "Account Details" page --> click "senders" (at the top of the page) --> click "Details" after the particular sender line --> choose "change password" Duo

Thanks Duo for your reply. I will re-try in my environment. in the settings.properties, is this setting means user has 5 times chance to enter wrong password otherwise the account will be locked? esl.login.max_failed_attempts:5

Hi Cindy, From my testing, I can confirm that this setting is used for the maximum login attempt. So if you set the number to 5, the fifth failure will lock the user. Duo

Thanks for the information. I tested it as well, and it works. but I noticed that it seems the maximum login attempt setting only works when set to tenant level, not the owner account level. could you please help to confirm that? thanks, cindy

Hi Cindy, I was testing on the latest SaaS version, however, the maximum login attempt is an account level setting. If you have the "settings.properties" resource at account level, it will override the tenant/instance default, so supposed to be an account level setting instead of tenant level. Duo

Hi Cindy, I tested on a 7.2 environment and can confirm that this setting in account level wasn't effective. Since 11.31 SaaS environment, there's a significant enhancement for the password management at account level. If you tried on SaaS, you will find a separate "Security Settings" option in "Admin" dropdown where you can specify particular password rules. Duo

Hi Cindy, Yes, the 7.2 on-prem version equals to the 11.25.2 SaaS version. (on-prem release note here) Duo
