Opt-out vs Decline

They are essentially one and the same, at the end of the day, from what I understand. They both return the package to a "DRAFT" level status, meaning that if someone declines or opts out of a package, they go back to your draft folder. I forget the reason for both being there, but I believe that one of them will be going away at some point. In fact, I think that only opt-out is available from the mobile view.

Sorry to Hijack this thread, but I would actually like to see Opt-Out be used to let the package continue to be signed. We have a customer who requested this, apparently a member has a conflict of interest and wanted to "opt-out" rather than decline. And now they have to restart and remove the signer that can't sign and collect signatures from everyone again.

You could definitely put this in as a post in the Enhancement Ideas forum. I know that optional signatures is something that is on the roadmap. I'm not sure when it's expected though. This might alleviate this issue for you.

While they funtion in the same way, the difference is Symantics. Decline and opt-out do the same thing ( transaction goes into a draft state,  sender gets notified...) difference is intent...decline means you plan to sign but want changes.  Opt-out means you intend NOT to sign... Is then a business decision about how you proceed...
