Before you begin

Before you authenticate with Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon, ensure that the following requirements are met.

Requirements

To authenticate to Windows using a one-time password (OTP), you need:

  • a Digipass authenticator assigned to the relevant user account
  • the server PIN, if required
  • Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Credential Provider installed
  • a client machine joined to a Windows domain
  • a valid network configuration where you can connect to OneSpan Authentication Server

    valid offline authentication data (available after first successful online authentication)

The following procedure provides step-by-step instructions to authenticate to Windows and Windows Server, using an OTP.

To authenticate to Windows and Windows Server with OTP

  1. Select Digipass Authentication in the Sign-in options.
  1. Type your user name in the User Name field.

    Log on to displays the Windows domain you are about to log on to. If you want to log on to another Windows domain, type the domain name together with your user name, separated by a backslash (\), i.e. DOMAIN\USERNAME or an @, i.e. USERNAME@DOMAIN.

  2. Generate a one-time password (OTP) with your Digipass authenticator.
  3. Type the OTP in the Password field.
  4. Click the Next button next to the Password field.

Logon with Push Notification

Before you begin

Before you authenticate with Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon, ensure that the following requirements are met.

To authenticate to Windows using Push Notification, you need:

  • a mobile device with the Digipass App installed
  • Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Credential Provider installed
  • a client machine joined to a Windows domain
  • a valid network configuration where you can connect to OneSpan Authentication Server

The following procedure provides step-by-step instructions to authenticate to Windows and Windows Server, using Push Notification.

To authenticate to Windows and Windows Server with Push Notification

  1. Select Push Notification Authentication in the Sign-in options.
  1. Type your user name in the User Name field.

    Log on to displays the Windows domain you are about to log on to. If you want to log on to another Windows domain, type the domain name together with your user name, separated by a backslash (\), i.e.DOMAIN\USERNAME or an @, i.e. USERNAME@DOMAIN.

  2. (OPTIONAL) In the Password field, enter the static password.
  3. Click the Next button next to the Password field to receive a push notification message on your mobile device.
  1. Windows displays a progress dialog box, including a Cancel button. Click this button if you wish to cancel the operation.
  2. Otherwise, confirm that you wish to log on and submit the authentication by accepting the push notification message on your mobile device.

Authenticating to Windows 10 with Push Notification
