Suppress Email to Signers?

0 votes

Can I turn off the email to signers? I had expected a     .withSettings(newDocumentPackageSettings()
.withInPerson()) might do that, but I got the email this way too.

Our app will be automatically loading the signing URL for in-person signing and we dont need the email to the signer.

                   Thanks

Hi Michael,

Do you mean to avoid prompting for signer emails, since you are in an in-person signing scenario? Unfortunately in OneSpan Sign, email is a mandatory attribute to add a signer. So if you only have an on-site signing flow, you could use dummy but secured emails as placeholders to by pass it.

I just meant suppress *sending* the email. In our scenario, the seller and buyer will perform the signing together at a single screen - we have no need to send an email at all for in-person signing. I suppose we could just tell people to ignore it but it would be nice to have a package attribute that turns off the email send.

I see, this feature is actually available. There's an account setting that allows you to suppress the invitation email when in-person is turned on. This feature is by default turned off and you'd simply contact the support team and we will help you set up your account in short time.

PS: you also have the option to turn off the invitation email globally (the template is called "email.activate") and when the activation email is necessary, use API to notify signer instead. (notify email uses template "email.notify")

Check this documentation for all email templates as well as the "Notify Signers" guide
