Package Reviewer use case

0 votes
Hi, We have a typical business case wherein the Admin Assistant creates a package for signing. The Signer is required to upload an attachment and sign the document. The package is then routed to the Reviewer who is required to review the package (including the attachments) and then sign to accept it or reject the package if the reviewer opts to do so. We are unable to implement this functionality using the default workflow feature that is available out of the box. Not sure if there are any settings that we are missing. please assist thanks Neel

Hey Neel, Have a look at this previous forum post on how to add a reviewer: https://community.onespan.com/forum/package-reviewer The only difference is that in your case you will need to add an attachment requirement when adding your signer.

Thanks for your reply. We want the reviewer to review what the signer has attached and approve / reject. Per the link you provided, the reviewer is treated as a signer without signature. thanks Neel

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post. The reviewer will only be able to look at the document but will not be able to approve/reject it. This functionality is reserved exclusively for the package sender.

Just to provide insight into our use case: basically, the Admin Assistant of a sr. mgmt personnel (say a Director / VP) will create the package to be sent out to the signer. The signer will upload the attachment and sign the document. The package is routed to the Director / VP who reviews the attachment & approves / rejects it. this is a very common scenario and would like some options for the same

Unfortunately, the reviewer will not able to take any actions or view the uploaded attachment. You can post a request for this in the Enhancement Ideas forum. The reviewer will only be able to review the document. For now, only the package sender can view the uploaded attachment and accept or reject it.

Using the scenario in your last reply, here is my suggestion: You could have the Director/VP delegate access his account to the Admin Assistant. This way, the Admin Assistant will be able to manage transactions on behalf of the Director/VP. Then, the Admin Assistant will send a package to a signer with a required attachment. When the signer signs the document, the VP will be able to review the uploaded attachment and accept or reject it.

In our scenario, there are restrictions around delegation of access so it won't be possible to implement that recommendation. Do you think we can leverage the designer view for this purpose if custom coding is the route to take?

Can you elaborate on leveraging the designer view? Only packages in draft will be available to make edits in the designer view. Therefore, once you've sent your package, and your signer has signed and upload the required attachment, the package sender will be able to accept/reject the attachment. The designer will not be of any help.
