Enable Push Notification for Authentication

The Enable Push Notification for Authentication page is disabled and hidden by default. For instructions to enable this page, see To enable upgrades to Push Notification.

To enable support of authentication via push notifications (push and login) in OneSpan Mobile Authenticator, the following form fields must be used on the Enable Push Notification for Authentication page and posted to the User Self-Management Website servlet (action="upgradepushnotification"):

username User Name

Required. The user name for logging on to User Self-Management Website. The maximum length is 255 characters.

password Password

Required. The password for logging on to User Self-Management Website. The maximum length is 128 characters.

serialno Serial Number Required. The authenticator serial number. The maximum length is 10 characters.
commit Continue Required. The button to submit data entered by the user to OneSpan Authentication Server.
replay_token <hidden> Required. Internally used form field to prevent re-transmission of form data.

Required. Information provided as a color QR code that is required to enable push notifications, including the user name, the domain (optionally), and the DIGIPASS Gateway ID.

The color QR code can contain data of up to 512 bytes. In order not to exceed the maximum size of the color QR code, you can limit the length of the user name accordingly.

button-done Done Required. The button to redirect the user to the User Self-Management Website menu.
replay_token <hidden> Required. Internally used form field to prevent re-transmission of form data.

Enabling Push Notification for authentication process

  1. The user navigates to the Enable Push Notification for Authentication page of the User Self-Management Website.
  2. The user enters their user name.
  3. The user enters the static password.
  4. The user enters the authenticator serial number.
  5. In the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator app, the user selects Add notifications from the app menu.
  6. In the Enable Push Notification for Authentication page of the User Self-Management Website, the user clicks Continue.

    If back-end authentication is successful, the color QR code that contains the activation image is displayed.

  7. The user scans the color QR code using the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator app to complete the process.
  8. (OPTIONAL) The user clicks Done and is redirected to the User Self-Management Website menu.
