OneSpan Mobile Authenticator activation
Self-Registration, Auto-Assignment, and Online Activation for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator
The User Self-Management Website offers two different versions of this page, for online activation of the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator and for online activation of Mobile Authenticator Studio. Depending on the authenticator used, you need to make the appropriate page available to your end users (see Restrict access to OneSpan User Websites functionality).
On the Self-Registration, Auto-Assignment, and Online Activation for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator page, users can activate their OneSpan Mobile Authenticator. To do so, users must enter their user name and password in the Self-Registration, Auto-Assignment, and Online Activation for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator page. If user authentication is successful, a color QR code that contains the required activation data is displayed on the Self-Registration, Auto-Assignment, and Online Activation for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator page. To complete the activation process, the user needs to scan the color QR code with OneSpan Mobile Authenticator.
Online activation is recommended for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator as of version 2.1. Earlier versions of the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator need to be activated offline, via the Offline Activation Using a Color QR Code page.
Enable Push Notification for Authentication
Push–notification-based authentication (push and login) must be explicitly enabled for OneSpan Mobile Authenticator prior to version 2.1. The same applies to OneSpan Mobile Authenticator 2.1 if Push Notification has not been configured during the activation process.
To enable push and login, users must enter their user name, their static password, and the authenticator serial number via the Enable Push Notification for Authentication page. If back-end authentication is successful, a color QR code that contains the required activation image is displayed on the page. To complete the process, the user needs to scan the color QR code with the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator app.
The Enable Push Notification for Authentication page is disabled and hidden by default. For instructions to enable this page, see To enable upgrades to Push Notification.
