when we try with sample code provided below we are getting the following API error: “Error creating eSignLive package with documents: Illegal value for primitive”.

From the error message, it's still using "eSignLive" vs in latest APEX SDK, all have been rebranded as "OneSpan". So is it possible that you followed the installation link in this Git repository (https://github.com/KadenceCollective/onespan-sign-apex-sdk) and rerun the code? I will also update the link in guide in very short time.
