Long-term storage update

0 votes
Hi, I got an email from eSignLive today saying that, effective January 9 of 2017, all transactions older than 90 days will be moved from the cloud to another database. I'm trying to figure out what this means for our company. Right now, we keep all transactions so that the user can both see and download completed transactions. Will this new update break all the transactions older than 90 days? This could cause some issues. Any further explanation will be appreciated. Thank you, Fernando

Hey Fernando, Yes. This is how I understand it, as well. At 90 days, all transactions that are COMPLETED will be archived in a "long-term" archive. Active transactions would not be affected. The transactions would still be accessible, but you'd have to request it. Maybe this is something that could be done in your application as well? After eSignLive no longer has the transaction available on-demand, you put a "request transaction" link? Do you do all of your storage of signed documents within eSignLive? I'll talk about this with others after I hear back from you.

Hi Michael, Can you expand on how putting a request would work? Will there be an api we can call for this new server to retrieve the document? Or every new request will be analyzed by eSignLive and emailed to the user? Right now we do all of our storage of signed documents within eSignLive, so this will be a big issue for us. Fernando

Fernando, I just learned about this a couple days ago, so I'll have to look into it for you. I will let you know what I find for the access method. Thanks for your patience.

Fernando, The request would be an email to support to request the file. I can see how this might cause issues for your current setup. What I would suggest is that you contact your eSignLive CSR and work with them to see what can be worked out. You'll probably also want to start looking into a way to pull your files and data from eSignLive into your own storage before 90 days so you never have to experience the interruption of requesting archived transactions. Most of our integrated folks do it this way, from what I can tell.
