Is suppression different than blacklisted if so what is suppression and why would someone need to be removed from the suppression list.

Hi Lori,

May I know the background context of this question? Is this a customer service request to remove signer/sender's email address from OneSpan Sign's side blacklist (due to too many email bounces), and if this is the case, how did they knew that they are suppressed?

Or do you mean to remove your sender's domain from recipient's side blacklist?

It was just more of a question as I've never heard of unblocking on the Amazon AWS side only on your side which you refer as the blacklist.  Just trying to understand in what scenarios would Amazon AWS need to unblocked a suppressed email address.

Hi Lori,

In OneSpan Sign, email services are configured via Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) by default or a custom SMTP server. So if a sender/signer failed to receive email notifications, it might because the email or the email domain are blacklisted by OneSpan Sign backoffice settings, or by AWS SES. There could be more possibilities why recipient missed emails, these two are just more relevant to this post. Normally the reason why AWS SES blacklisted an email/domain is because the email previously produced a bounce or complaint event or the signer's host is blocking Amazon Web Services. Again, there could be more reasons why a recipient failed to receive email notifications, and when this happened, you could submit a support ticket and ask for further troubleshootings.
