Version 3.24 (July 2023)
New features and enhancements
Support of Active Directory as source system
This version of DMT allows you to select OneSpan Authentication Server deployments as source system that use Active Directory as data store.
This enables you to migrate from Active Directory to a deployment with a supported ODBC DBMS as data store:
- OneSpan Authentication Server 3.24 (Active Directory) to OneSpan Authentication Server 3.24 (ODBC)
- OneSpan Authentication Server 3.24 (Active Directory) to OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance/OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance 3.24
Note that you can no longer select Active Directory deployments as the target system in DMT.
OneSpan Authentication Server deployments that use Active Directory as data store are deprecated. The option to select and use AD as data store will be removed in a future release of OneSpan Authentication Server. We strongly recommend that you do not use this option as destination for new or planned upgrade installations!
Multiple reader/writer threads
In previous versions, DMT used only one thread to read data records from the data source in batches and one thread to write the data to the destination server. To improve data migration performance, you can now increase the number of threads to read and write more data in parallel. You can set the number of threads in the General Migration Options page when preparing a data migration. The default numbers of used reader threads and writer threads are set to half of the number of CPU cores.

Fixes and other updates
Issue OAS-12263 (Support case CS0082811): Migration from OneSpan Authentication Server to OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance fails because of insufficient administrator level
Description: On OneSpan Authentication Server, the administrator level is an integer value ranging between 0–255. However, OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance only allows and uses a value range of 0–100, and the system accounts are all set to 100 by default.
Because the user account used to connect to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance target instance for data migration has an administrator level of 100, it cannot create user accounts with a higher administrator level than its own. In the likely case that a user account to be migrated from the OneSpan Authentication Server source instance has a higher administrator level, the data migration will fail.
Affects: Data Migration Tool 3.21–3.22
Status: This issue has been fixed. When you apply the bundle file to set OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance to migration mode, the Update wizard provides a dedicated user account that you should explicitly use for migration purposes. Administrative user accounts with an administrator level greater than 100 are automatically set to 100 on the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance target instance during the migration process. Administrator levels lower or equal 100 remain unchanged.
The documentation has been extended to describe this new behavior and its impact.

Known issues
Data Migration Tool does not support maker–checker authorization
Description: Data Migration Tool does not allow data migration if maker–checker authorization is enabled on either the source or the destination system.
Affects: Data Migration Tool 2.10–3.26.0
Status: No fix available. Disable maker–checker authorization on both the source and the destination system.
Issue 41626: Mobile Authenticator Studio incorrectly set to UNBOUND upon migration
Description: When you attempt to migrate Mobile Authenticator Studio version 4 that is already present in the destination server, the authenticator becomes UNBOUND upon migration.
Issue 20591: User links not migrated upon subsequent migration attempts
Description: When you migrate data again with the Update Existing Records option enabled, Data Migration Tool may fail to preserve links between linked user accounts. This will occur if:
- The user accounts in question were linked after the first migration attempt.
- Each linked user account had an assigned authenticator when they were first migrated across.
This occurs because Data Migration Tool migrates all user accounts first, and then attempts to re-apply any links between linked user accounts. However, if those user accounts already exist in the destination with assigned authenticator (i.e. as they were when they were first migrated), their links will not be re-applied.
Status: No fix available. To circumvent this issue, ensure that all user links are applied after the data migration.
