Configuring live audit connections

If both, the OneSpan Authentication Server instance and the Audit Viewer application, are installed on the same computer during installation (e.g. during a basic installation), then a default live audit connection is automatically set up in Audit Viewer. The display name used by that live audit connection is IAS on Local Machine.

To open a live audit connection to the local OneSpan Authentication Server instance

  1. Launch Audit Viewer.

To do so on Windows, navigate to Start Menu > Programs > VASCO > IDENTIKEY Authentication Server > IDENTIKEY Audit Viewer.

  2. Select and double-click IDENTIKEY Audit Viewer > Server > IAS on Local Machine in the navigation pane.
  3. Enter the user ID and password for an administrator account in OneSpan Authentication Server.
  4. Click OK.

The default live connection is now configured properly.

If your organization is impacted by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensure that GDPR-compliance is met when auditing with OneSpan Authentication Server by doing the following:

  • Encrypting the database and connections to it if database auditing is used.
  • Encrypting the folder or disk containing the audit text file if text file auditing is used.
  • Encrypting the Windows Event Logs folder (also on remote machines if remote logging is enabled).
  • Encrypting the Linux syslog folder (also on remote machine if remote logging is enabled).
