Exporting key files from VACMAN 3.0 or OneSpan Authentication Server
If you are upgrading or adding additional OneSpan Authentication Server instances, you will need a key file.
What to use to export a key file
Source | Export method |
---|---|
VACMAN Server 3.0 | VACMAN Server DIGIPASS Configuration tool |
Identikey Server 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2 | OneSpan Authentication Server Configuration Wizard |
Identikey Server 3.3 IDENTIKEY Authentication Server 3.4 or later |
OneSpan Authentication Server Maintenance Wizard (Export Key Data option) |
When to export a key file
You will need to export a key file if you are:
- Migrating from VACMAN Server 3.0 to a version of OneSpan Authentication Server.
- Installing an additional OneSpan Authentication Server instance, if the existing version is earlier than IDENTIKEY Authentication Server 3.4.
- Installing a new OneSpan Authentication Server machine on an AD domain which has one or more existing VACMAN 3. 0 or OneSpan Authentication Server instances.
For all these situations, you need to export the key file from the source application before commencing the upgrade or new installation.
If your environment has more than one OneSpan Authentication Server instance and you are adding another, export the key file from the latest OneSpan Authentication Server instance.
When you do not have to export a key file
In an ODBC environment, you will not have to export the key file in the following cases:
- You are adding an additional OneSpan Authentication Server instance and you are sharing the same ODBC data store as the other OneSpan Authentication Server instances.
- You are adding an additional OneSpan Authentication Server instance and you are going to use replication with a previously existing data store.
