Answers file
The answers file is an output file produced by the Installation Wizard, which can be used to store configuration settings used by an OneSpan Authentication Server instance. In turn, it can also be used as an input file for applying pre-set configurations to a OneSpan Authentication Server installation. This is useful, for example, if you install OneSpan Authentication Server in a test environment first and after evaluation want to reapply the same settings in the productive environment.
Answers file generated during installation
An answers file will be generated when the Installation Wizard is run on an initial installation of OneSpan Authentication Server. The file will be created with the name install-answers.ini, and will be placed in the same location as the OneSpan Authentication Server configuration file.
In Windows, the OneSpan Authentication Server configuration settings are stored in %PROGRAMFILES%\VASCO\IDENTIKEY Authentication Server\bin\identikeyconfig.xml.
Answers file generated during upgrade
An answers file may be generated on initial upgrade only. If the Installation Wizard has been completed following an upgrade, a functional upgrade file cannot be produced on subsequent runs. Answers files for upgrades can only be used on environments that are exactly the same as the one on which the answers file was generated.
