Pre-uninstallation tasks and considerations

Administrative privileges

To uninstall OneSpan Authentication Server you must be logged on using a built-in administrator.

Database

When uninstalling an instance of OneSpan Authentication Server that uses an external database, the database files and data inside will not be removed.

When uninstalling an instance of OneSpan Authentication Server that uses the embedded MariaDB database server, the database files and data inside will not be removed. If database encryption is enabled, the data-at-rest encryption key and certificate files will not be removed and remain on the disk as well.

If you uninstall OneSpan Authentication Server via the OneSpan Authentication Server Setup Utility, you will be prompted whether to automatically remove or keep the existing database files and data-at-rest encryption key and certificate files used by the embedded database. If you choose to keep them, you will need to back up and delete them manually, before reinstalling OneSpan Authentication Server.

Removing schema modifications

The dropschema command in the dpdbadmin command-line utility can be used to remove all schema modifications from the database, deleting all data relating to OneSpan Authentication Server.

For more information, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Administrator Guide.

Firewall ports

If ports have been opened on the firewall during installation, they must be closed after uninstallation.

For more information, see Open port numbers on firewall.
