Get to know Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent

Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent automatically adds an icon to the notification area, which indicates the overall status of Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon.

Tray Agent icon Description
Status: OK. The current user never authenticated, or the last OTP authentication was successful.
Status: Warning. Offline authentication data is expiring soon, or the last OTP authentication failed (depending on the Show status of last authentication option).
Status: Error. Offline authentication data has expired.

If the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon is not present, it may be hidden. To show it again, launch Start > Programs > OneSpan > Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon > Tray Agent.

If you right-click the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon, the shortcut menu opens.

Using the Status Hover Pane

The Status Hover Pane displays the status of the last authentication with the Digipass authenticator, and the status of the offline authentication data. In addition, it provides quick access to common commands and indicates if system and/or user diagnostics is active.

To show the Status Hover Pane, select View Status Hover Pane in the shortcut menu. The Status Hover Pane is displayed and remains visible, until you click Close.

With the View Status Changes option, the Status Hover Pane can be automatically displayed whenever the authentication status changes, e.g. when an authentication with the Digipass authenticator is performed.

To prevent the Status Hover Pane from being automatically displayed, clear the View Status Changes option in the shortcut menu. The Status Hover Pane will no longer be automatically displayed when the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon status changes.

Showing and hiding the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon

To hide the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon permanently, select Hide Tray Icon in the shortcut menu. The icon disappears and remains hidden, even after a system reboot.

You can display the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon again by launching Start > Programs > OneSpan > Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon > Tray Agent.

To hide the Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent icon temporarily, select Exit in the shortcut menu. The icon disappears and Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon Tray Agent is shut down. However, Tray Agent is restarted after a system reboot.
